Diamond Audio Tesla speakers

Diamond Audio is aggressively adding vehicle specific audio systems with new drop in speakers for Tesla, Audi and Mercedes vehicles.  The new speakers double the power handling of the original factory speakers.

These join Diamond’s original vehicle specific audio systems for BMW introduced last year.

The new Tesla speakers are direct replacements for the Model S and X. There are two component kits for the Model S, one replaces front and rear 6.5-inch door speakers and offers power handling of 75 watts RMS at 2 ohms.  The second kit is a pair of front speakers only.  All speakers are $399.99 per pair.

For the Model X, Diamond is offering a front and rear package, with the rear using coax 6.5-inch speakers and the front using 6.5-inch components.  A second system offers the rear coaxials only. Power handling is again 75 watts RMS at 2 ohms and pricing again is $399.99 per pair.

The new Audi kit includes 8- inch component speakers for the A6, Q5 and Q7 models.   They handle 75 watts RMS at 4 ohms, also at $399.99 per pair.

Mercedes speakers include an under the seat 8-inch subwoofer, a 4-inch center dash midrange, a 4-inch coaxial for the front, 1-inch tweeters and a full 4-inch speaker set with the 8-inch subwoofer.

Shipping of all the direct fit speakers is expected in late May.

Diamond and its sister company Cerwin Vega will also ship in May new coaxial horn speakers, especially suited to motorcycles.  The Cerwin models fall under a new Pro Mobile line and include an 8-inch full range coax horn tweeter, a 6 x 9 inch model and a 6.5 inch version.  The 8-inch handles 180 watts RMS with a mounting depth of 3.7 inches (model PH84).  The 6 X 9 PH694 handles 160 watts and the 6.5-inch PH654 handles 150 watts.
