PowerBass plans to ship this spring one of the only OEM direct fit replacement speakers for General Motors vehicles, it said.
The speakers bolt into the factory speaker locations and look like factory speakers. They plug directly into the wiring with no wires to cut or holes to drill, said PowerBass.
The speakers are offered in 6.5-inch or 6 x 9 inch coaxials or as 6 x 9 components. PowerBass will also provide a dual input plug on the 6.5-inch models to accommodate older model GM vehicles.
The line should fit almost all GM cars, trucks and SUVs and PowerBass is looking to develop a Bose replacement speaker for GM as well. It will include 2 ohm speakers that will work directly with Bose GM audio systems.
All of the speakers may be driven by an aftermarket amplifier if the customer wants to add more power to his or her system.
PowerBass already offers OE direct fit replacement speakers for Ford and Toyota. It plans to deliver similar speakers for Honda, BMW, and Volkswagen in the future.
PowerBass will display during the CES Show at the Hard Rock Hotel, Monday January 6 through Wednesday, January 8.
