Here are the top car audio amplifier and speaker models of 2018 (measured in dollars, not units), according to The NPD Group.
Looking at year-to-date sales through October, Kicker took the lead in both amplifiers and speakers with the same models as last year in both categories: the 43CXA600.1–a 600 watt mono amplifier and the 43CSC654 speaker, a 6.5-inch, coaxial model.
In amplifiers this year, Alpine and Pioneer switched places for the second and third runners up. Alpine’s MRVM500 mono amp (at 500 watts) was the number two seller and Pioneer’s GMA5702, 2-channel amp came in third.
In speakers, JL Audio took a stronger presence this year, winning the number two and three positions for loaded sub enclosure models CP212W0V3 and CP108LGW3V3.
