AudioControl will debut at CES next month its first micro amplifiers for the car.
While they may be used in motorcycles, these are not waterproof powersports amplifiers. But they are designed as sound quality amplifiers that are installation friendly and that don’t need extra line output converters or additional accessories.
The line will consist of four models including a mono, 2-, 4- and 5-channel versions. Suggested retail prices are targeted from $249 to $379.
The AudioControl Micro (ACM) Class D amps offer high voltage handling, both low and high level, so they have an OEM integration focus.
“This is not another small amplifier, but we wanted it to be installation friendly. We spoke to probably over 120 installers,” said AudioControl CEO Alex Camara. “You can install it heat sink up or down; the beauty plate on top can be switched around,” he added.
The line will match up with AudioControl’s DM-608 processor for a small footprint system, he said.
All models will ship in the first quarter 2018 except for the new 5-channel model that is due in April.
