Howard Stern  told his loyal followers Thursday that he’s been offered a job back in terrestrial radio.

The shock jock who basically put Sirius on the map and brought in two million new subscribers to the company after one year, is either truly considering returning to traditional radio or simply puffing out hot air as he gets ready to bargain for a new contract with Sirius XM.  Stern is in the fifth year of a five-year $500 million contraction with the satellite radio company that has 18.8 million subscribers.

The Wrap says Stern said, “I actually have an offer.  Well, not a bona fide offer, but people have been making them.”

Sirius XM’s contract with Oprah also ends in 2011.
