LinksWell unveiled at the recent SEMA Show what may be the largest-screened car radio to date. The Android-based unit has a 15.6-inch screen and is designed for use in certain Ford trucks.
The floating-screen radio uses an 8-core processor and has PhoneLink for wireless smartphone mirroring. Users can download apps directly to the radio from the Google Play store. It has a large volume knob that converts to other uses, depending on the mode.
The 15.6-inch screen has a 2K resolution (1920 x 1080).
The radio works with F150 model years 2015 to 2020 and the F250 and F350 for model years 2017 to 2020.
The floating screen is new for LinksWell, whose T-Style radios typically use flush mounted screens.
The new deck is expected to ship in March at $1,995.
