Below are the top 5 selling car audio amplifiers in the U.S., January through September 2022, by units and dollars, according to The NPD Group.

At the top of the charts in both units and dollars is the Kicker CXA800.1 mono amplifier, introduced in 2019.   It is one ohm stable and accepts up to 40 volts. It delivers 800 watts for $299.99.

The number two slot in both units and dollars, once again, goes to Kicker in the same CX series. The  mono CXA400.1, also launched in 2019 and is rated at 400 watts.  Retail price is $199.99.

The third best seller, again in both unit an dollar sales, is the Alpine S-A60M; a compact 8 x 8 mono subwoofer amplifier rated at 600 watts RMS at 2 ohms at $219.95.

  1. Fosgate t series mono block is better than all these that are mentioned!!!i had a t 1500 Fosgate am monoblock ran into a HTC a 15 in Orion red and that thing shook the hell out of the car and the ground way better than all those amps could ever do!i was at .5 ohm stable!

  2. All cheap junk. Isn’t like old Boston or soundstream amps. Everything made now unless you buy high class stuff . Is all cheap. Make as much money as possible and screw quality generation.

  4. I have kicker cxa 1200 in both my vehicles I gave one wired to 1ohbm with skar audio 12 with matching box shakes the vehicle the other is at 2 ohms with 2 Memphis audio 12s it’s awesome too can’t beat these systems for durability and price

  7. They are good for daily low bass systems with one or two subs but they are not the amps for bass heads running 4 12″ subs or two 15″ subs

  8. I can’t say enough good things about both of those Kicker mono amps, they are a literal great bang for the buck, and every customer loves them.

    1. Same. They rock. Just wish the “step up” models were in-stock/new ones released. Been well over a year with only CXA.
