AAMP Global announced it is expanding its presence in dashcams through a partnership with Thinkware.

AAMP is now shipping 20 consumer dashcams developed by Thinkware.  In the future, the companies plan to combine Thinkware’s expertise in advanced driver safety with the know-how of AAMP’s PAC division in OEM integration in the vehicle.  Thinkware combines some of its dashcams with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) safety technology.

The new line of 20 dashcams will be sold under EchoMaster, capped by a 2-channel dashcam with built in lane departure warning and night vision at $359.

“We have seen what the dash camera market has done in other geographic areas like Korea and Russia. Here in the US we are right on the cusp of what is going to be a category that explodes with growth,” said AAMP’s Brad Chapple, Director of OEM and Commercial Partnerships.

He added, “We have seen what driver safety has done for our retail partners, and know that these products are another area that will deliver massive success for them …Additionally, we are excited to partner the Thinkware engineers with PAC engineers to explore potential fusion of PAC OEM integration into Thinkware’s dash cameras.”

The Thinkware line available through AAMP will include the flagship TW-F800PRO, with Night Vision 2.0,  built-in ADAS including lane departure and front vehicle departure warnings, and Thinkware Cloud, a family monitoring solution using a smartphone app.   The dashcam  also offers geofencing, vehicle location, and impact notification. The TW-F800PRO has an optional second camera that can be used to monitor the interior or rear of a vehicle.

Additionally, the lineup will include the TW-F770, with built-in GPS, ADAS and Night Vision, and the TW-F100 and TW-F50, both with an optional external GPS antenna to add ADAS features.

Until now AAMP offered only two basic DVRs plus a line of commercial DVRs.
