Press Release: TORRANCE, CA–Rydeen Mobile Electronics announced the receipt of a prestigious CES Innovation Award in the Vehicle Intelligence category.

The BSS2LPBC blind spot detection system uses the latest radar sensing technology to alert drivers of cars in their blind spot. It also includes a backup camera that has cross traffic detection.  If the driver is backing out of a parking space and another car is coming down the lane, the unit will give a warning.

The BSS2LPBC uses microwave radar technology with highly accurate sensitivity for distances of up to 35 feet for detecting objects within the driver’s blind spot.

“Advanced second-generation radar sensors within the unit provide much more accuracy than previous ultrasonic based sensor solutions from other companies. The system also uses GPS to initiate the operation above speeds ranging from 5/10/15/20 MPH that is user selectable eliminating potential faulty alerts in slow moving environments such as parking lots,” said Rydeen Founder Phil Maeda.

The blind spot detection system installs on the top or bottom of a vehicle license plate, and it works on vehicles with both plastic and metal bumpers for compatibility with millions of vehicles. “Trucks and commercial vehicles with metal panels that never had an option for aftermarket blind spot systems before can now take advantage of this advanced technology,” Maeda said.

The product was designed by the company from the ground up, said Rydeen.  It will be on display at the CES Show in January at Rydeen’s Booth #5606, North Hall as well as in the  Innovation Awards Showcase, Booth #83319, Hall G, Level 1 at the Sands Convention Center.
