The hottest selling feature for car radios in 2022 is simply keeping CarPlay/Android Auto models in stock. This has helped BOSS Audio to continue to hold the lead in aftermarket car radio sales, according to new NPD Group data.
NPD cited the BOSS BE7ACPC as the top selling deck for the first quarter 2022 in both unit and dollar sales to consumers. It was the top selling deck in the third quarter last year as well (we don’t have the data for the fourth quarter).
Prior to 2021, the best sellers on NPD charts were exclusively brands such as Pioneer, Kenwood, and Sony.
For example, 2020 best sellers were the Alpine ILXW650, the Kenwood DMX706S and the Pioneer AVH2550 followed by a Sony XAVAX1000 and Kenwood DMX7706S, according to NPD (unit sales to consumers).
The BOSS BE7ACPC is a mechless (no CD/DVD) radio with a 7-inch capacitive screen. It comes with a back up camera at a $279 every day package price. (There is a BE71ACP version without the camera at $259).
