Sony and Honda said they will pair up to develop battery-powered electric vehicles with the first model due in 2025.
The companies signed a memorandum of understanding to create a joint venture where Honda will be responsible for manufacturing and ‘after sale services’ and Sony will develop entertainment, network and other mobility capabilities, said Nikkei Asia.
The name of the joint company was not announced, nor was the name the cars will be marketed under.
Sony has already shown prototypes of its Vision-S ‘Sony Car’ packed with sensors, wide screen displays and 360 Reality Audio.
