AudioControl Ships Epicenter Micro

AudioControl is shipping the Epicenter Micro, a mini, water-resistant version of AudioControl’s bass-restoring Epicenter processor.  The new unit also includes a number of improvements and new features over the standby Epicenter, which delivers a clean signal from factory systems so users can add aftermarket systems.

The Epicenter Micro offers top mounted controls.  It comes with a new ACR-4 controller that has one big concentric knob to control both subwoofer levels and Epicenter effects.

The device has conformal coated boards for water resistance so it may be used in powersports vehicles as well as in cars. It has high level inputs that accept up to 40 volts a signal and low level inputs for aftermarket radios or DSPs.

The Epicenter Micro has load select, DC offset auto turn and audio turn on for new vehicles where DC offset doesn’t work. It has an output voltage switch to cap the voltage, if you are using an amplifier that accepts only 5 volts, for example.

There’s a 3-way choice of ground from the audio signal combined with ground from the power terminal or isolated ground or ground combined with 200 ohms of resistance.  The unit also has an on/off selector for PFM, which acts like a subsonic filter rolling off very low bass to prevent damage to woofers.

We hope to add pricing later today.
