New Aftermarket Power Liftgates

GCH Pro launched last week a full line of power liftgate upgrade kits covering approximately 175 vehicle applications.

The kits are OEM-specific and they replace the vehicle’s factory struts with powered struts for automated open and close of the liftgate from the factory key fob and front and rear installed buttons.

Retail prices on the kits range from $1199 to $1599.

GCH CEO Greg Delgado said OEMs are presently deleting power liftgates due to chip and materials shortages,  just as they are other features such as navigation, heated seats and park assist.  The GCH aftermarket kits provide an opportunity for retailers and expeditors to present them to the local car dealerships as well as to consumers.

“Toyota, General Motors, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, they’ve all done it.  Everyone has pulled liftgates and other features consumers have come to expect as standard.    VW in the new Atlas and Taos, Toyota in the Rav4 and Highlander. The features are no longer available on most or all trim levels,” said Delgado.

Once the kit is installed, the user pushes a button on the dash or the rear of the vehicle and the rear trunk of an SUV, crossover or hatchback, lifts automatically.  Then a factory button in the front cabin closes it.  GCH will also offer an option of an upgrade to a full hands off opening with a wave of your foot under the rear bumper by installing a rear opening sensor.

The GCH kits include two power struts, a control module, integration harness, latch assembly, dash mount switch, and trunk mount switch.

The kits fit vehicles from General Motors, Ford, Honda, Dodge, Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan, Kia, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Land Rover, Subaru, Mazda, Infiniti, Jaguar and more.
