Amazon Teams With Stellantic Smart Cockpit

Stellantis (parent to Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Peugot and other brands) has partnered with Amazon to develop vehicles with Amazon software in the dash.

Together they will create a next-gen Smart Cockpit that is expected to be available in Stellantis vehicles in 2024.

The agreement is part of Amazon’s efforts to beef up its presence in the automotive industry, said Reuters.

Stellantis will likely get Alexa powered services for car and home systems, and over -the-air upgrades for features like navigation.

Amazon and Stellantis will also develop cloud services for the car.

“We’re excited to collaborate with Stellantis to transform the automotive industry and re-invent the in-vehicle experience,” said Andy Jassy, CEO of Amazon.

The deal also calls for new electric vans to be made by Stellantis for Amazon delivery services.
