Unique Blind Spot Detector from Rydeen

New Rydeen Blind Spot Detectors

Two new products from Rydeen are designed to solve the typical calibration headaches when installing blind spot detectors.  One of the new products is a unique “trailer hitch bumper step” that doubles as a blind spot detection system.

The BSS-HITCH bumper step attaches to a hitch and draws power from the 9-pin trailer plug originally equipped with vehicles.  Embedded in the step is a Type 3 radar sensor to monitor both passing and approaching vehicles in the blind spot.

The hitch step is plug and play and can be removed when the driver wants to tow a boat, trailer, etc. Wires run to the front for LED indicators on the A-Pillars, and the system allows audible alerts.  Or the Rydeen TOMBO 360 mirror can act as the blind spot indicators with built in LED lights on either side of the mirror.

The BSS-HITCH it is expected to ship in three months at a price to be announced.

The second Rydeen system adheres to the inside of a plastic bumper using automotive grade adhesive. Installers may be required to remove the bumper but there’s no need for right and left calibration adjustments.   The new BSS-ONE includes a single sensor with a 180-degree active field.   The sensor operates at 77GHz instead of the typical 24GHz, so it is able to process more data.

“Until now the user experience in aftermarket blind spot systems hasn’t been meeting the OE level experience. The BSS-ONE will ensure nearly 100 percent good outcomes,” said Rydeen Founder Phil Maeda.

Again, for installation of the BSS-ONE, wires run to the A-Pillars for LED indicators or to the TOMBO 360 mirror.

The BSS-ONE is expected to ship in two months at a price to be announced.
