Soundstream, Power Acoustik Move to MAP Protection

As of June 1, all Epsilon Electronics’ brands will now adhere to a Minimum Advertised Pricing (MAP) policy.  SoundStream and PowerAcoustik will  join the company’s brands SoundStream Reserve and Precision Power brands, which converted to MAP two years ago.

Epsilon sent a letter to dealers stating, “Over the past two years, we have watched the pricing of our products erode to the point that our dealers can no longer make a fair profit. So, as a company, to protect our dealers, we have no alternative but to implement a MAP pricing program for all internet accounts,” wrote Ronnie Brashear Vice President of Sales.

The company is tracking serial numbers and has hired the Kreller Corporation to handle MAP policing and to
“enforce our ‘one and done’ policy.” Keller will oversee all third party sites including Craigslist, Offer up etc., Epsilon said.  Under the new policy a dealer will be terminated for a single infraction. ‘There will be no warning letters,” said the notice. “This is your warning. We will begin terminating all accounts not in compliance on May 31st.”

All accounts are required to sign and submit a MAP agreement.  The soft start date to the program is set for May 25th.

The letter concluded, “We hope this is viewed as a positive move as we are trying to protect not only our dealers but also Epsilon’s future in the 12 volt market,” said Brashear.
