JBL Spare Tire Subwoofer Passive Version

JBL Car Audio is shipping at the end of the month a new version of its spare-tire subwoofer that is not amplified so there’s room in the sale for a separate aftermarket amplifier.

The original BassPro Hub spare-tire subwoofer remains in the line and includes a built-in 200 watt amplifier.

Like the original, the new Stadium BassHub fits into the hub inside your spare tire (that is 15-inches or larger) so the subwoofer doesn’t take up trunk space.  It includes an 11 inch woofer with a fiberglass cone that handles up to 600 watts RMS.  It has a 2.5-inch, dual 4 ohm voice coil.  The housing is die cast aluminum. Frequency response is 20Hz to 150Hz.

JBL amplifiers suited to the BassHub include the ClubA600 and the Stadium 600, each with 600 watt x 1 rating at 2 ohms.

Retail price of the Stadium BassHub is $379.
