Alpine Electronics of America announced a waterproof Bluetooth speaker designed for music beyond the vehicle.
The new Turn1 includes two midrange speakers, two tweeters, and two external passive radiators. It produces up to 40 watts of sound. It delivers over 12 hours of playing time and users can pair their phone with up to two Turn1 speakers for more powerful sound. There’s also a built-in mic for handsfree calling.
The speaker is tuned to be played outside, even with wind or other noise, said Alpine.
A separate package is available that adds a universal mounting bracket designed to attach to the inside bars of select Jeep Wranglers and side by side vehicles.
The speaker charges via USB in 4 to 6 hours.
The Turn1 and the Turn1 mounting bracket package will ship this month at a street price of $199.95 and $249.95, respectively. It will be sold both at car audio retailers and online stores as well as on www.alpine-usa.com
