Sony announced its first compact “under-the-seat” powered subwoofer, marking an entry into a new category for the Sony brand.
The XS-AW8 fits into cramped spaces in the car to add more bass. It has a built-in class A/B amplifier that delivers 75 watts RMS or 160 watts peak power.
The unit has high level inputs for a factory radio and is compatible with RCA pre-outs, up to 5V. All connections and amplifier controls are located on a single side for easy installation and tuning. It comes with a wired remote control and will be available in December at $299.99.
