Mid City Engineering is offering new remote start solutions for Mercedes C Class and GLC vehicles.
Its new SmartKey Starter remote start offers new features for the 2015-2018 Mercedes C Class (W205) and 2016-2019 GLC (X205), and provides new add-ons.
As a standalone, the SKSNG205 will add remote start using the factory key. To add additional security, a Compustar DAS sensor can be connected to monitor shock, tilt, and vehicle movement. The DAS sensor will interface with the existing OEM security. The system is also compatible with the Compustar Drone and Directed Smart Start as well as Compustar and Directed RF remotes with full 2-way communication (including alarm notifications) from both smart phone applications and 2-way RF kits.
In addition, an external Compustar or Directed alarm can be added to open up the full range of alarm capabilities (multiple sensors, external siren, etc). The only connections needed for an external alarm are plug-and-play data (RS232 / D2D) and an ignition wire- giving installers and sales staff a full array of options to meet any customers’ needs.
Another new feature is our anti-theft / anti-carjacking system. When enabled through the menu option, both the Compustar Drone and Directed Smart Start systems utilize the AUX1 button to disable the vehicle the next time it reaches 0MPH. Once the vehicle is disabled, the lights will flash and the vehicle will not be able to start again until the user hits the unlock command on their Drone or Smart Start.
Additional features include: timer start (controlled through the instrument cluster menu), automatically turn on OEM heated seats, rear defroster, and OEM cooled seats based on programmable outside temperature threshold, and pit stop mode using Compustar remotes.
As always, no programming or flashing is required and the system will work out of the box.
W205/X205 C Class and GLC owners have been left without a remote start option for some time and Mid City Engineering is proud to now be able to offer it. This solution opens up a large market for our dealers and installers around the world.
