Interlock devices are a scam. I had Intoxalock. You guys are straight up thieves. Your devices malfunction ,they freeze, they give false positives. The states know this. The program needs to changed or just go away altogether.

I think the customer should be allowed to disconnect and reconnect the handheld, as long as we are outside with the customer. But we are still using gloves to handle the unit.

Either wash your hands after handling the device for 20 seconds or wear latex gloves (that are usually in the install bay for fiberglass or other work). Treat it like a doorknob that you had to open that others have used.

All states should suspend this program Immediately. As a shop owner the task of performing a Calibration – defies every ounce of common sense – and we should NOT ask our employees to put themselves in this type of a compromised situation. In and out of customers’ vehicles… handling devices – unplugging 1 customers’ device and then plugging in another…. all while NOT being able to use disinfectant…. Are you kidding me??
