We’re hearing of more vendors claiming to be the next generation of car audio. Aunex, a 9-month old startup, is actually named after the trend, combining the words “Audio” and “Next.”
The amplifier supplier is going after a “Hybrid Brazilian” sound. The amplifiers use International Rectifier chip sets, the gold standard for full range digital amplifiers, said Aunex Founder Steven Bach. The amps provide lower THD and lower electromagnetic distortion but deliver the power of the Brazilian style amplifiers, he said.
Bach served as a Vice President at PowerBass for over ten years. He also helped found Marathon Audio, the company that became Massive Audio, he said.
He is launching Aunex as a limited distribution line, that doesn’t allow Internet sales and focuses on product quality at lower prices. The company claims the product is on the level of the top car audio brands, at prices below the competition.
The lines include a mini waterproof IPX67-rated series called the AMX line, an elite full-range Class D line, a mini line (non waterproof) and a Class AB/Class D line among other series.
“Protecting the margins of our dealers is one of our main priorities,” said Bach.
A few distributors will be used in select areas such as the Southeast and East Coast to help speed up delivery.
“I am very proud of what the talented staff of Aunex has accomplished within the past 9 months. Everything from product planning, product development and rigorous testing to packaging, manuals, and website development are all done in-house and to see our first shipments leave last week is one of my greatest achievements,” Bach said.
Initial products include car audio amplifiers, digital signal processors (DSPs), equalizers and accessories. Aunex will expand to speakers, midrange drivers, subwoofers and enclosures starting in 2021.
