More Kicker ‘Keys’ Debut

Kicker is adding to its line of Key digital signal processor amplifiers that automatically optimize and add power to the car’s factory sound system.

New is a Key 200.4  200 watt RMS by 4 channel DSP/amplifier and a mono 500 watt version called the Key 500.1.

The mini hideaway amps come with a built in microphone.  They generate test signals and then analyze the frequency response of the car’s system such as time delay and then auto adjust for the car’s acoustics.  Users can also add aftermarket speakers, amplifiers or subwoofers to the system.

The Kicker Key resets the factory crossovers and eliminate bass roll off.  It has line level inputs to connect to the factory radio and then they connect via power and ground.

The new models join the original Key 180.4 with 45 watt by 4 power.

Both of the new models are due to ship end of March at $249.

Also joining the new models is a KeyLOC, line output converter. Instead of using a microphone to analyze the car’s system, the dealer downloads test signals from kicker.com.  The LOC looks for equalization, time delay, all pass filters and dynamic bass roll off in the factory signal and then corrects it for a clean signal to which users can add an amplifier and speakers.  The KeyLOC is due tentatively to ship near the end of March at $129 estimated retail price.
