The new Samsung Galazxy Z Flip folds in half on a hinge into a square pocketable size. As The Verge said, “It looks a lot different than the troubled Galaxy Fold, and it folds up much like the new Motorola Razr.”
The 6.7-inch OLED screen folds into two 4-inch screens. Then there’s a third 1-inch screen on the cover when closed, which shows notifications that you can tap to bring up an app once the phone is opened to full screen.
Samsung promises the Z Flip’s hinge will last for 200,000 folds.
The phone has 3 stops on its hinge so it can sit in a folded-open position on a table. In this mode it can act as a “camera on a tripod” said Samsung.
The phone has a 64-bit octa-core processor, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The cameras are 12megapixel.
Shipping is expected February 14 at $1,380.

“Samsung promises the Z Flip’s hinge will last for 200,000 folds.”
Yeah. right. I believe you Samsung even if the myriad of early adopters of Galaxy Fold with cracked screens and spontaneously combusting Notes don’t.
