Toyota Re-Outfits Used Cars

Toyota is launching in Japan this month a service that adds new electronics to used cars.

The company has not ruled out offering the same service in other countries, reported Autoblog.

Called Kinto Factory, the service add features such as blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, emergency braking assist and hands free tailgate or trunklid to used cars. It will also remodel cars, updating upholstery, seat cushions and the steering wheel.

Autoblog said Toyota is “open to the idea of expanding the service in overseas markets.”
