Alpine ships Jeep Wrangler radio

Alpine Electronics of America is shipping a new 9-inch weather resistant navigation radio for the Jeep Wrangler with an “off road mode,” as well as CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Alpine X409-WRA-JK is a mechless (no CD/DVD), in-dash, direct fit radio for model year  2011 – 2018 Wranglers.

It includes improvements to the user interface for faster screen transitions and it comes with an off road mode to display information such as vehicle tilt, tire pressure, optimized camera view, and FunTreks trailhead POI database. It also offers an off road trip recording feature.

The deck is IP53 rated for protection against dust and ingress.  The large, 9-inch screen has a WVGA display with a capacitive touchscreen.

Third-party driving maps like Google Maps and Waze are available through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. In areas that don’t have strong cellphone service, the X409-WRA-JK has built-in navigation with Turn-By-Turn and Pinch-to-Zoom maps of the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico with The Latest Map Guarantee.

The X409-WRA-JK has one camera input that can be assigned as a front or rear camera with various views like ground view and wide-angle views to see past your vehicle and multi-angle views to see two images on the screen. If your vehicle has multiple camera systems, an optional KCX-C250MC accessory allows them to be  controlled  from the touchscreen.

Users can display up to eight accessories directly from the touchscreen by adding the optional KAC-001 External Accessory Controller.

Other features include Bluetooth, HD Radio, Pandora, FLAC playback via USB and SiriusXM compatibility.

The X409-WRA-JK is available at  $2699.95.
