Sorry, we missed this while heading out to KnowledgeFest:

Some Ford owners will be reimbursed due to the faulty performance of their infotainment systems.

Vehicle owners and lessees can claim up to $400 in compensation for their MyFord Touch systems as a result of a lawsuit settlement in which Ford will pay out up to $17 million.

The class action suit claimed that 2011-2013 Ford and Lincoln infotainment systems were unresponsive and subject to crashing and freezing while driving. Other complaints included inaccurate GPS information and the inability to connect with a smartphone.

The suit was filed by the lawfirm Hagens Berman, which has filed similar suits against other car makers including Honda and Subaru.

Owners and lessees of new or used vehicles with MyFord Touch that were purchased from a Ford dealer before August 9, 2013, may file a claim by September 20, 2019.

You must have purchased a Ford vehicle in the states of California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia or Washington to submit a claim.

Those who have had three or more repairs to their MyFord Touch system can get a cash card payment of up to $400.  Those who have had two repairs receive $250, those who have had one repair receive $100, and those who had no repairs, but were dissatisfied with the MyFord Touch system can receive $45 if a claim is made.

Ford owners may visit the MyFord Touch settlement website at www.myfordtouchclassaction.com for more information or email [email protected] or call 1-833-402-1732.

  1. Starting to get the same expensive problems with Synch equipment here in the UK.

  2. Ouch… $400 doesn’t exactly cover the cost of a new aftermarket unit that would resolve the future issues these customers will inevitably have.
