White House Brokers Deal to Extend Port Hours

The White House said it will delay the 10 pecent tariffs expected September 1 on many products and it might exempt some products altogether.

The new target date for tariffs on products including cell phones, laptop computers, video game consoles, certain toys, computer monitors, and certain items of footwear and clothing is now December 15, which would likely shield these items from price increases during the holiday season.

Speakers, including car audio speakers, were expected to receive a 10 percent tariff, but now it is unclear if they are to be exempt or included in the December 15 round.
