The Mobile Electronics Specialists of America (MESA) buying/marketing group has entered a partnership with Keystone Automotive Operations, a leading, nationwide distributor of truck accessories.

Keystone becomes a MESA partner for bolt-on accessories, allowing MESA retail members to enter the truck accessories market featuring products such as Tonneau covers, brush guards and step plates, expanding the service they offer their current customers.

Through Keystone, MESA members receive next day shipping on truck accessories.

It is estimated that the deal could help many of MESA’s 149 members earn as much as an additional $100K in revenue.

“The ‘key’ with Keystone is they have a national footprint of next day delivery on large items, so all of our members are set up on truck delivery as opposed to UPS delivery,” said Ryan Gunter, MESA Executive Director.  Typically, a dealer must reach a certain dollar volume with Keystone before it qualifies for truck delivery, but this requirement is waived for MESA, he said.

“We’ve got a few of our members that are doing as much in truck accessories and Keystone product as they do with some of the major 12 volt players, so it’s like bringing in another major brand, but it’s a totally different category so it’s all additional revenue,” Gunter said.

Keystone also offers an app that allows a retailer to input a VIN number. Then it pulls up all the accessories you can put on that vehicle.

Keystone distributes about 8,000 products.  It has seven distribution centers and a fleet of more than 600 vehicles. It offers products from more than 800 suppliers.

MESA serves approximately 286 car audio dealer storefronts with over $300 million in collective sales.
