VOXX Electronics Corporation has signed an agreement to purchase all Crimestopper assets from Rockford Corporation.

The sale, expected to close this month, would place all Crimestopper products, including remote start and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), under VOXX’s Omega Research & Development Group.  It will bring to Omega, “a new set of customers they currently do not service, as well as a full line of ADAS products they do not offer…today,” said Senior VP VOXX Electronics Aron Demers.

Crimestopper was founded by Howard Miller over 30 years ago and was sold by Miller and his wife Sharon to Rockford four years ago.

Rockford said, “Crimestopper is a solid brand with a good reputation that has worked well as a complement to Rockford Corporations audio brands. But as we look to the future of our company, we recognize that our resources are needed in other areas to execute the strategy for our Rockford Fosgate brand.”

As of Wednesday, Omega R&D assumed responsibility for sales, service and support operations for all Crimestopper dealers. Customers who have purchased Crimestopper products will also be serviced by Omega R&D.

Rockford and Omega R&D will contact dealers in the coming weeks about further details on the  Crimestopper transition. For immediate information, please contact Omega at [email protected] or (305) 219-9110.
