The Mobile Electronics Association (MEA) is planning to launch a fourth annual KnowledgeFest trade show, starting May 2020 in Orlando, FL,

With the new event, MEA says KnowledgeFest will be within driving distance of a large percentage of the car audio retailers in the US.

The exact dates of the show could be finalized by the end of the month.

KnowledgeFest has grown in recent years from a single show in Dallas, to events throughout the year, also in Indianapolis and Long Beach, CA.   The trade show offers installation and product training, business seminars, and new product exhibits.

MEA says that for each KnowledgeFest about 65 percent of the dealers attending are based within a 6 hour drive from the venue. “That’s the magic formula for getting the dealers,” said MEA’s Chris Cook.  Local dealers tend to bring more members of the staff so installers, managers and salesmen can all receive the benefits of training.

Over 3,000 dealers attend the current three KnowledgeFest shows with less than 5 percent overlap between them, said Cook. About 60 suppliers also exhibit and offer training at each show.

Cook said the Long Beach and Dallas events are attracting dealers from Central and South America and so some classes will be held in Spanish for the first time this year at the Long Beach show.

The new Orlando KnowledgeFest is expected to take place at the Orlando Convention Center.
