Bucking the latest trend in raising prices to compensate for tariffs on Chinese goods, Kicker said it is lowering prices on some of its most popular car subwoofers, to boost sales and “because we can,” according to a spokesman.

The price of a Q Class L7 15-inch subwoofer to consumers was slashed from $599 to $399.  The 12-inch model dropped from $499 to $299, the 10-inch from $399 to $249 and the 8 inch from $299 to $199.

“We are rolling back prices on our top subwoofer and sub enclosure lines,” said Steve Irby, president and founder of Stillwater Designs, Kicker’s parent company.   “We are lowering prices on our (Q-Class) L7 and CompQ subs, as well as our L7S, L7R and CompVX.

The price reductions are effective immediately.
