Orca Design and Manufacturing, which supplies the Focal brand, has teamed with the new manufacturing division of retailer Mobile Toys of College Station, TX to produce new subwoofer enclosures sold under the Focal brand.

The enclosures are part of two new Focal under-the-seat loaded subwoofer enclosures announced today.  They are designed specifically for late-model Ford and GM-branded trucks.

The Ford enclosure (FLAX Ford Dual 10) fits 2011 – 2018 Ford F-Series trucks with the Super Crew cab, as well as 2017-2018 Super Duty truck models. The GM enclosure ( FLAX Chevy Dual 10) is designed for 2007-2018 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra models with the Crew Cab.

The enclosures are produced by MTI, a year old manufacturing company that is an off shoot of Mobile Toys co-owned by Chris Pate, named Installer of the Year last year by Mobile Electronics magazine, and partner Lou Le. The enclosures are loaded with Focal slimline subwoofers and are contoured to match the curves of the truck seats and finished with stitched leather.

According to Pate, “We had started manufacturing enclosures for Ford and Chevy trucks over the last year, taking designs we’d done for a number of years…”  That business was taking off so Mobile Toys, started MTI.

MTI delivers its own premium sub boxes in quantities of about 75 a month to various customers and has ramped up to add more capacity for Focal.  It added 5,000 square feet of manufacturing space, hired four new employees for the production line and is ordering another CNC machine.

The new Focal enclosed subwoofer packages each include two Focal Performance Flax 10-inch down-firing subwoofers ( SUB P25FS).  Both are damped using Orca’s Black Hole Stuff filler and pre-wired for a two-ohm load to a single terminal set.

Both enclosures carry an MSRP of $2,300.
