Feature Story:

Way back in January, Kenwood quietly showed what may become its first OEM navigation add-on module.

The company is still evaluating plans to ship the product, but on display at CES in Las Vegas, was a KNA-L50 black box that can add navigation to vehicles from General Motors, Ford and Volkswagen, model years 2014-2017.  These vehicles offer touch screens, but lack navigation.

Aimed mainly at expediters, the KNA-L50 also works with Kenwood’s WebLink app that allows the radio to control Waze, YouTube, Yelp and provides access to weather and other features (via a USB connection from phone to radio). Through WebLink, drivers also get access to NextRadio, an advanced FM radio service that provides album art, song title information and more.

  1. This is a great idea for a product category that is currently under served for many vehicles out there, I look forward to seeing this product come to light!

  2. there are already to many products like this on the market with some of them being actual OEM parts. Customers want features like carplay and android auto. we are getting less call for navigation add-ons and more calls for better phone integration. Kenwood don’t waste your time with this. You are too late to the game.
