Stinger officially made the shift from an accessories-only brand to selling a small selection of amplifiers and speakers.

The company began shipping its first powersports amplifiers and speakers this week with subwoofers to follow.  “In the next 30 days we’ll ship amplifier Harley Davidson kits and Polaris wiring kits to be a full service supplier for powersports and marine,” said Kevin Kuenzie, Senior Product Manager of AAMP Global, Stinger’s parent company.

“We want to be a full line supplier. We know for Phoenix Gold if we build the amplifiers and speakers, it helps us build better amp kits and accessories to go with them.  Stinger benefits from the engineering support of Phoenix Gold,” added Kuenzie.

Amplifiers include a 2-channel 350 watt model SPX350X2 full range Class D amp rated at 350 watts by 1 at 4 ohms or 175 watts by 2 at 2 ohms and 100 watts by 2 at 4 ohms.   There’s a 4-channel version rated at 200 watts by 2 at 4 ohms, 175 watts by 4 at 2 ohms and 125 watts by 2 at 4 ohms. Street prices range from $279 to $319.

Speakers consist of two 6.5-inch coaxials, one with multi-color RGB lighting at $99 and $129.

Harley and Polaris amp kits are targeted to ship March 14.

Two powersports Stinger subwoofers will ship in June rated at 150 watt RMS power handling.  The models SEA10S4 and  SEA12S4 have polypropylene mica injected cones, santoprene surround and included grills.  They are fully marinized against salt and fresh water conditions.

Stinger is also launching a new “Stinger X” brand of powersports accessories including interconnects.  It will adhere to a “strictly enforced” MAP (minimum advertised price) policy..  Stinger X will  be sold on the Internet “by a few exclusive online dealers that will follow MAP extremely closely,” Kuenzie said.

Stinger X accessories are due to ship April 15.
