Press Release:

SOUTHFIELD, MI– President of Brandmotion, Jeff Varick, has been elected to the SAE International (SAE) Board of Directors. Varick will serve as Board Director through 2021.

Brandmotion, Varick’s own brain child, is an industry leader in integrated safety products, distributed through the automotive aftermarket. Their OEM-quality retrofit solutions are distributed through a North American network of over 2,500 dealers.

The company is an inaugural member of the University of Michigan Mobility Transformation Center (MCity). Brandmotion was named Manufacturer of the Year in 2015-2016 by the SEMA PRO Council. This past year, Jeff was honored by the same group within SEMA as Person of the Year for his leadership in taking the aftermarket into the Connected Vehicle age.

As an aftermarket specialist, Varick was an untraditional, yet prudent, choice for the SAE Board. “I have a background in working with industries going through disruption,” Varick stated, alluding to the current watershed of the industry. “I’ve navigated all parts of the auto industry and our company is on the forefront of some interesting aspects that deal with how the auto industry is changing. I hope to help SAE be proactively on the forefront of our industry evolution.”

There are three distinct areas in which Varick aspires to move SAE and its members forward: increased SAE relevance to new mobility providers, more rapid development of life saving technology, and building the education and supply of engineers.

Varick brings three decades of experience across a vast array of industry specializations to the SAE Board. Before forming Brandmotion, Jeff held a wide variety of product development, business development and marketing strategy leadership roles within the global automotive industry, including Director of New Product Strategy for Johnson Controls, new business development manager for GM International Operations in Zurich, Switzerland, and design engineer at GMs Design Studios in Warren Michigan.
