Maxxsonics launched its first limited distribution line under its Hifonics brand about five years ago and is now expanding that strategy to the lower priced Crunch line.
A new Crunch GTRII line of seven amplifiers is making its debut at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week. It will be sold through traditional brick and mortar retailers exclusively and prohibited from the Internet, Maxxsonics said.
“Due to the success we’ve had in the Brutus Elite and Gemini [limited distribution] lines our customers have asked for a lower priced line that is also protected,” said National Sales Manager Sam Dattalo.
The GTRII line includes three 2-channel models, two 4-channel amplifies and two mono Class D amplifiers. They are designed with SPEED-FETS and high-level inputs to integrate with OEM Systems as well as low voltage RCA inputs.
Additionally, Maxxsonics is introducing at the SEMA Show a new Crunch low profile solution subwoofer that fits under the seat. The CR-8A is an 8 inch subwoofer housed in a low-profile enclosure which also serves as the aluminum heat sink for the integrated Class D amplifier. It is rated at 450 watts by 1 and will ship in November at $199.
