Elite Distributor Alliance (EDA), the only 12 volt distributor group, says that 20 percent of the 12 volt products sold in the US, flow through one of its 11 distributors.
EDA just announced its eleventh member, SSR Distributors of Houston. With the addition of SSR, EDA now offers one-day shipping from seventeen distribution centers,
Last year, EDA launched a house brand Triton for amplifiers and speakers, which now has 45 SKUs and 200 dealers. Like other new and secondary brands last year, Triton performed well as more established brands ran out of inventory and dealers looked elsewhere.
The same, held true for distributors themselves. “We had a phenomenal year. I think a lot of dealers came to good quality distributors because their traditional sources [for product] were drying up so they gave the local distributor a try,” Executive Director Jim Warren said.
EDA distributor members grew “well north of high teens” percentage-wise in 2020, said Warren. “Most of our members measure ‘frequency of visit’ – this metric has been up significantly,” he added.
EDA exclusive 12 volt brands include SPL Boxes, Triton Audio, and Nustart.
As for its newest distributor member, SSR Distributors is a family owned business founded in 1998 that is one of the largest 12-Volt distributors in the country, said EDA. SSR currently serves the 4-state territory of Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
