Another Low Priced CarPlay Deck

Sound Storm Laboratories announced a new head unit with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto at a suggested retail price of $199, making it one of the lowest priced on the market with both CarPlay and Android Auto.

The new DD988ACP deck is mechless (without a CD/DVD player).

But it’s not the quite the cheapest on the market.  Dual Electronics offers a mechless CarPlay/Android Auto deck with a 7-inch LCD 800 x 480 resolution screen that can be seen on the Internet for $159.

By contrast, Sound Storm’s deck has a capacitive 6.75-inch screen. It offers USB charging, steering wheel control, and rear camera inputs.

  2. There is a difference between “inexpensive” and “cheap”. It is sad that most consumers don’t realize this and just want “cheap”. There is something to be said for the saying, “You get what you pay for.”
