Power Acoustik is adding Android Auto to its decks for the first time with the new low priced CPAA-70D, which also features Apple CarPlay.
The deck has a 7-inch screen, DVD/CD, and double DIN chassis at a suggested retail price of $249. It has been shipping since earlier this month.
Jordan Shahriary, Trainer and Social Media Manager for Epsilon, parent to Power Acoustik, said the company has already been finding it hard to keep CarPlay units in stock and expects the addition of Android Auto to only add to sales.
Sonic Electronix shows the new CPAA-70D as on “backorder” at $219.99.
The radio’s HD capacitive screen has 1,064 by 600 resolution with adjustable backlight. The deck has a front camera RCA input with on-screen trigger and an RCA backup camera input. It also includes a 10-band 12dB boost/cut eq with surround effects.
The unit is joined by a series of new protected “Shot” micro amplifiers under Soundstream, also an Epsilon brand. The amplifiers measure only 3 inches by 3 inches and come in Single, Double, and Quad Shot models. They will be protected from online discounters, as part of Epsilon’s shift for many of its product lines into Minimum Advertised Pricing (MAP) and “cleaning up Internet sales.” They just started shipping at $99.95 MAP.

Apple is letting the riff raff into the party
A low price point is great, but will they work? I’ve had many PA products dead out of the box.
