Echomaster is shipping what it calls the aftermarket factory-integrated blindspot camera and lane change monitoring system for the Ford F150.

The system includes side mirror cap inserts with embedded cameras.  The cameras snap into inserts that screw into the mirrors with a factory look.  Images then appear on the factory screen or an aftermarket screen showing the appropriate side lane when the turn signal is activated.

Ford F150 Platinum version trucks come with a similar factory system, so the new Echomaster kits provide the same system for lower trim levels, said Echomaster.

The system is available in two kits, one for the factory screen, model FCTP-FD1501, and one for an aftermarket screen with an RCA input, model FCTP-FD1504 .  With both kits there is no need for calibration during installation.

Suggested retail prices are $799.99 for the 1501 and $549.95 for the 1504.

Blind spots are one of the leading causes of preventable auto accidents with an estimated 840,000 accidents annually caused by blind spot-related issues, Echomaster said.

The company will provide kits for additional vehicles in the future including the Dodge Ram, said Echomaster’s Aileen Alhambra.

Echomaster is an AAMP Global brand.
