Port Delays Worsen

Harman was one of the companies whose shipping containers were aboard the ship, the One Aquila, that hit “severe weather” last November.  It caused damage to some containers and caused some to fall into the ocean.

JBL and Infinity car audio products were among some of the affected containers, delaying shipments of the brands’ 12 volt products.  The products were originally due in the US in December but Harman is now attempting to deliver them in March, said Harman Director of Sales, Mobile Audio Aftermarket, Shawn Spedding.

The Harman containers were aboard the ship One Aquila, which hit severe weather on its way from China to Long Beach, CA last November.  Another supplier, PowerBass, also had 3 containers on that ship but was spared any loss. We know of at least one other car audio company that suffered damaged goods on that ship as containers knocked into one another, causing some to fall into the sea.
