MECP offers Vision Zero course

A company headed by industry veteran Kris Bulla has purchased the Mobile Electronics Certified Professional (MECP) program from former owner the Consumer Technology Assn.

The new MECP owner is Certification Systems Technology Co. (CTSC) led by Bulla who has more than 25 years’ experience working with the MECP, a program that has tested more than 50,000 installers over the years.

As of February, MECP will switch to an all-digital format for easier access to MECP education materials and testing. “You can now learn from anywhere you have Internet access, at any time,” said Bulla.

A new progress tracker allows learning at the user’s pace and promotes higher-level certification achievement. Future improvements like a Technician Finder tool, account manager, and expanded certification levels and content will provide more value to those who have become certified.

The new program is subscription-based. If you are currently certified, your current certification is valid through the expiration date on your certificate. Once certification ends, or if you decide to upgrade to another certification level, you will be required to subscribe to that level within the new platform.

  1. Still believe you need hands on experience for beginners.
I think also as a industry we need to be at the HS level
    Promoting out industry
    For jobs as installers
& try working with the automotive classes to teach kids about our industry.

  2. Interesting business. Hoping the subscription based thing doesn’t turn into trouble, no one likes subscriptions these days.
