EISA Best Product Car Audio 2020-2021

A team of dozens of leading journalists from 29 countries has picked the top electronics products in Europe and elsewhere, including the best car audio products of 2020-2021.

Winning the Best Product for an in-car head unit was Kenwood for a model with a 10-inch screen offered in the Australian market. It is similar to a model due in the US next month.

The prize winning Australian Kenwood DMX9720XDS with 10.1 inch screen shares many features with the DMX1037S due stateside, said Kenwood.  Features include wireless CarPlay and Android Auto and support for four dashcams, Hi-Def touchscreen, HDMI inputs and more.

Kenwood also took the top head unit prize last year, and Pioneer the year before that.

The prize was awarded by EISA – the Expert Imaging and Sound Association which has traditionally been a European organization although it now includes the US and other countries.

The EISA Best Product for an in-car subwoofer went to Hifonics.  The model ZRX6D2 is not offered in the US.  It’s designed for tight installations but still provides a +- 0.6 inch stroke for big bass.  It uses a 6.5-inch coated paper-cone driver with ribbed surround and its compact die-cast aluminum frame houses a dual 2-inch voice coil and twin magnet. It requires only a 15-litre cabinet.

The Best Product for an in-car amplifier went to Mosconi GLADEN for the ATOMO 2, available overseas.  The super small amp is designed for installation just about anywhere.  It is a stereo Class D power amplifier rated at 100W into 4ohm. It uses a robust aluminum chassis and has an 80Hz crossover, auto-on function and high- and low-level connections. Together with Mosconi’s ATOMO 1 subwoofer amplifier, and its ATOMO 4|6 DSP for signal control, it allows the creation of a small but powerful system.

Helix and Ground Zero won for Best Product in the sound processor category and Audison’s bit One Virtuoso won Best Product for a high end in-car component.

Eton won an EISA award for best DSP/amp, and Kenwood for a dashcam.
