Kenwood is shipping at the end of the month a new family of eXcelon enclosed subwoofers.
These are larger than the company’s previous models. They are loaded with 12-inch, single and dual subwoofer drivers that were introduced in January.
The new enclosures are down-firing ported enclosures with forward or rear installation. Power handling ranges from 300 to 1000 watts RMS and street prices will run $199 to $249 for single woofer models P-XW1241S and P-XW1221SHP and $349 and $449 for dual woofer models P-XW1221D and P-XW1221DHP.
The enclosures include steel mesh grilles. They are made of 5/8-inch MDF construction with 3/4-inch thick baffle. The port’s rounded shape reduces airflow resistance and nose generation. Extra thick legs support the weight of the enclosure when installed in a down-firing application.
Kenwood is hosting four online training sessions introducing the new sub enclosures this week called “Kenwood Hear Me Out.”
Guest speaker will be Elias Ventura, voted the Salesperson of the Year for 2016-2017 by Mobile Electronics magazine. He will speak on selling car audio in a pandemic. All four sessions will offer the same training program.

also KENWOOD .. please issue a 10″ version of these Execelon loaded enclosures.
