A stocking rep firm for Alpine, and manufacturer’s rep for brands including JL Audio, Scosche, Elettromedia, Epsilon and Omega is closing its doors at the end of the month.
Focused Marketing Solutions has been a rep for 17 years in the Mid-Atlantic and Metro NY areas, led by Principal Dominick Butta who is retiring.
Butta said the decision to close the Toms River, NJ based firm was not financial.
“This move is something that my son and I have been working towards and is in no way financially motivated. We realized a while back that we weren’t enjoying business as much as we would like to and therefore worked towards positioning ourselves to make a move like the one we announced yesterday,” said Butta.
“The only sad part for us in all of this is that we will truly miss the industry friends that we might lose touch with,” he said.
Butta is retiring to spend more time with his family. His son, who served as Focus Marketing VP of Sales Operations, Dominick Butta Jr, “is going to take a few months to enjoy his newly born first child before moving forward with his career plans outside of our industry.”
The remaining five employees including Greg Boylan will be retained until the end of the month.
Butta said, “My son and I are forever grateful for the support of our vendors, customers and our employees throughout our nearly 17 years in business and my over 36 years in our industry.”
Focus Marketing has served as the stocking rep for Alpine in the following territories in New York: NYC, Long Island, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau County, Suffolk County, Rockland, Westchester, Orange and Putnam Counties. It also represente Alpine in East Pennsylvania, Southern NJ, MD, DE, VA, and DC.
Focus Marketing has also been the JL Audio rep in DE, Eastern PA and Southern NJ under its sister rep company, Bravo Sales and Marketing, which will also dissolve at the end of this year.

In my forty years in the rep business I can say without hesitation Dominic has been one of the most professional and ethical people I know. I always respected him both in his Factory and Representative roles over the years. Going out on a high note was my goal when I retired. I’m so glad he is able to do the same.
